Shipping and Returns
## Shipping destinations
Signed books can be delivered to:
- Switzerland and Liechtenstein;
- Europe; and
- supported destinations in the rest of the world.
If a destination cannot be selected at checkout, delivery to that location is not currently available.
Local collection is not offered.
## Shipping charges
Shipping is charged separately from the book price. The amount is calculated through a tiered system based on the total shipment weight and destination and is shown at checkout before payment.
Free shipping is not currently offered unless expressly stated in a promotion.
## Estimated delivery times
Estimated delivery times are:
- **Switzerland and Liechtenstein:** 3–5 working days;
- **Europe:** 5–10 working days;
- **Rest of the world:** 10–20 working days.
These times are estimates rather than guarantees. Personal dedications, busy periods, public holidays, customs checks, postal disruption and circumstances outside reasonable control may extend delivery times.
You will receive an order confirmation at the email address provided during checkout. Further delivery or tracking information will be supplied where available for the selected shipping service.
## International customs charges
Orders delivered outside Switzerland may be subject to import VAT, customs duties, clearance charges or carrier fees in the destination country. Unless checkout expressly states otherwise, these costs are not included in the book or shipping price and must be paid by the recipient.
Customs procedures may delay delivery. Tara Jade Brown cannot control customs decisions or provide a definitive estimate of charges imposed by another country.
## Address accuracy and returned parcels
Please check the delivery address carefully before submitting an order. If you notice an error, contact tara@tarajadebrown.com immediately. An address cannot always be changed after dispatch.
If a parcel is returned because the address was incorrect or incomplete, delivery was refused, customs charges were not paid or the parcel was not collected, you may be asked to pay the cost of resending it. If you prefer a refund, the original shipping charge and any return, customs or carrier costs actually incurred may be deducted where legally permitted.
## Cancelling an order
An order may be cancelled before the book has been signed, personally dedicated or dispatched. Please email tara@tarajadebrown.com as quickly as possible. Once preparation has begun, cancellation may no longer be possible.
This does not limit any mandatory cancellation or withdrawal right under applicable consumer law.
## Change-of-mind returns
As a voluntary returns policy, a signed book **without a personal dedication** may be returned within 14 days after you receive it, provided that:
- you notify Tara Jade Brown by email within that period;
- the book is unused, undamaged and in its original condition;
- it is packed carefully to prevent damage during return; and
- it is posted to the return address provided in the return instructions.
Please do not send a return without first making contact.
Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, you are responsible for return postage and for the parcel until it is delivered. A tracked service is recommended. The original shipping charge is not refunded for a voluntary change-of-mind return.
## Personally dedicated books
A book containing a dedication requested for you or a gift recipient is personalised to your specification. It cannot be returned merely because you change your mind.
This does not affect your rights if the dedication does not match the information supplied, or if the book is otherwise incorrect, defective or damaged.
## EU, UK and other mandatory withdrawal rights
Depending on your country of residence, mandatory consumer law may provide a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract. Where such a right applies, it remains unaffected by this policy.
Statutory exceptions may apply to goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised, including personally dedicated books. A standard signed copy without an individual dedication is treated under the ordinary return provisions above unless applicable law requires different treatment.
To exercise a statutory withdrawal right, send a clear statement identifying yourself, the order and your decision to withdraw to tara@tarajadebrown.com before the applicable deadline. No special form is required unless local law states otherwise.
## Incorrect, defective or damaged books
If your order is incorrect, defective or arrives damaged, please email tara@tarajadebrown.com as soon as reasonably possible. Include:
- your name and order number;
- a short description of the problem; and
- clear photographs of the book and packaging, where possible.
Please keep the product and packaging until instructions are provided. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, a replacement, refund, repair or price reduction will be arranged. Reasonable return postage for an accepted defective, incorrect or transit-damaged product will be covered or reimbursed where required.
## Refunds
Once an approved return has been received and inspected, the refund will normally be issued to the original payment method. Bank and payment-provider processing times may vary.
For voluntary returns, any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the book may be deducted from the refund where legally permitted.
